TABF’s Financial Research Institute continued to actively supplement its research
personnel and augment its research teams in 2009, with the aim of deepening its
long-term research capabilities and consolidating its research capacity. At the
same time, in order to optimize its function as a financial policy think tank, in
addition to expanding its fields of research,it also held a series of “Taiwan Financial
Forum” seminars as a means of effectively gathering opinions from all relevant quarters
and raising public understanding of financial policy. A further landmark during
the year was the launch in October, after long preparation, of The Taiwan Banker
Magazine, designed to broaden the Academy’s channels of communication, and to complement
the long-established Taiwan Banking and Finance Quar terly as a tool for domestic
financial education and a flagship publication for disseminating financial knowledge.
In overall development during the year, the Institute not only continued to broaden
and deepen its research programs, but also actively participated in formulating
and publicizing policy issues, thereby enhancing the visibility and influence of
its research results, and laying firm foundations for its future development.
