TABF was established through the merger between the Banking Institute of the Republic of China (BIROC) and the Banking and Finance Institute (BFI) in May 2000.
Both the Institutes were originally set up twenty years ago to serve the clientele of different types of financial institutions in Taiwan.
As the major financial training and research institute in Taiwan and a foundation operating under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Finance, TABF has the mission of promoting education and research in the field of banking and finance, and improving professional knowledge and skills, thereby furthering the modernization of banking and financial operations in Taiwan.
